Saferinternet Connection Wizard Instructions for Windows 2000 

From the desktop either double click "Connect To The Internet" or if you don't see that icon, click the "right mouse button on the Internet Explorer icon" and click "Properties".



If you clicked with the right mouse button on Internet Explorer you will see the screen. Click on the "Setup".



Select "I want to set up my Internet connection manually" then click the "Next".



Select "I connect through a phone line and a modem" then press the "Next".



Click on "Use area code and dialing rules" so that it is NOT checked. Then enter the number "#pv phone#".
Then click advanceded.

Be sure you're on the connection tab, then click "Disable LCP Extensions". Click on the "Address Tab.



Select for "IP Address" the option "Internet service provider automatically provides one" then click the "OK" button.



Now it asks for your "User Name" and "Password".

Type in the Username with @gurulink.com at the end (ie username@gurulink.com) and Password you gave to your Internet Service Provider {ISP}.



In the box titled Connection name: type "Saferinternet" then press Next.



On the next screen you are asked "Do you want to set up an Internet mail account now?". Select "Yes" and then click "Next".



On the screen select "Create a new Internet mail account" and then click "Next".



In the Display name field type "your name" and then click "Next".



In the E-mail address field type your e-mail address {Example: loginname@#pv domain#} and then click "Next".



Make sure "My incoming mail server is a POP3 server" is selected.
Enter the following values in the incoming and outgoing mail server fields:
Incoming mail (POP3, IMAP or HTTP) server "mail.#pv domain#"
Outgoing mail (SMTP) server "smtp.#pv domain#" and then click "Next".



In the Account name field type your Saferinternet username {Note: Please don't put @#PV Domain# at the end of the username}.

Type your password In the Password field. Put a check in the "Remember password" field by clicking on it. Click "Next".



Uncheck "To connect to the Internet immediately, select this box and then click Finish" click "Finish" to complete this process.
