Saferinternet Connection Wizard Instructions for Windows Me
Note: User Name, Password, E-mail Address, and Mail Servers are all lower
case letters.
Once inside of Windows Me click on your "Start" button and
go up to where it says "Programs".
Go to "Accessories" then "Communications"
and click on "Internet Connection Wizard".

The screen will list 3 options the third being "I want to setup my
connection manually..." this is the option you need to select.

After selecting the correct option click the button labeled "Next".
This screen will ask you "How do you connect to the Internet"
choose the option labeled "I connect through a Phone line and a
modem".

After selecting the correct option click the button labeled "Next".
This is the screen that ask you for your telephone number. NOTE: This is
not your Home Telephone Number.
In the Box labeled "Telephone Number" Type in "#PV
Phone#".
Remove the Check that says "Use Area Code and Dialing Rules".

Once you have completed the above steps Press the button labeled "Next".
This screen will ask you for both your "Username and Password"
Type them in the appropriate boxes. Include @gurulink.com at the end of the username (ie. username@gurulink.com)
Double check the Username and Password Boxes to insure they are both "Small
Letters".

When ready to continue Press "Next".
Remove everything in the box labeled "Connection Name" and
type in "Saferinternet".

When ready to continue Press "Next".
The Connection Wizard will now ask "Would you like to setup a Mail
account now?".
Select the Box Labeled "Yes" and click "Next".

If you chose to setup a Mail Account the Wizard should now be asking to
either "Create a New Mail Account" or "Use
Existing...".
Place a check in the box Labeled "Create a New Internet Mail
Account" and click "Next".

Now the Wizard will ask for a "Display Name" this field is
optional so type anything you want in this Box and Click "Next".

Now the Wizard will ask for your Email Address. Note: This Must be the
Full Complete Email Address including the @ symbol. {Example: john@#PV Domain#}.
In the box Labeled "Email Address" Type in your Email
Address.

Once your Email Address is Complete click "Next".
Now comes time for you to enter both the "Incoming and outgoing mail
server names".
In the Box Labeled "Incoming Mail (POP3, IMAP, HTTP) Server"
Type in your Pop3 Server Name "mail.#PV Domain#".
In the Box Labeled "Outgoing Mail (SMTP) Server" type in
your SMTP Server Name "smtp.#PV Domain#".

Click "Next".
If the "Account Name" is not the name you gave to your ISP
type in your "User Name".
Also in this step you will need to type in your Email Password in the Box Labeled
"Password".
Verify there is "NO" Check in the Box Labeled "Log
on Using Secure Password Authentication (SPA)".

When all is Correct click "Next".
Uncheck in the Box Labeled "To Connect to the Internet
Immediately...." and Click "Finish".
