OT/PPP version 1.1
OT/PPP is the default dialer that comes with MacOS systems above version 7.5.5.
To open your connection to the Internet and configure it correctly you must open
the PPP control panel.
Access to the PPP control panel can be gained via the "Apple menu".
The figure below shows how to open the PPP control panel on this menu.
Fill in the appropriate text fields as you see below. Please note that the
figure below shows the casual 56k dialup account telephone number. If you have
an "All you can eat Plan" the telephone number should read "#PV
Phone#".
Click the "Save Password" box if you want to be able to log
straight in without typing your password in each time.

You may customize the way your OT/PPP dialer works, including the amount of idle
time which must pass before it will automatically hang up your connection to the
Internet. After clicking the "Options" button you will be
presented with the options window shown below.

You can increase or decrease the time as shown.
After you have filled in all the fields for the PPP control panel open the
TCP/IP Control Panel.
Below is a picture of what numbers you need to enter into each field.

The first drop-down menu should be set to PPP, the second drop-down menu should
be set to Using PPP Server.
In the name server address you type the number 216.29.46.2 then press
return and type 216.29.46.3.
In the search domains you type "#PV Domain#".
NOTE: If your TCP/IP window does not look exactly the same as the picture is is
probably because you have changed what mode TCP/IP is set to look like. Our
picture is in Basic mode; you can change what mode your TCP/IP control panel
appears in by going to the Edit menu and selecting usermode.
