Configuring Netscape Communicator for email

Once you have Netscape Communicator running select the "Edit"
menu and select "Preferences".

This will bring up the Preferences box that will allow you to configure
Communicator for your computer.
From the Category list, select "Mail & Groups".
Make sure you expand the list by clicking on the little box to the left of "Mail
& Groups". From this sub-list, select "Mail Server".

Netscape from version 2.0 on has a built in Mail Program and News Reader. Once
the correct configuration has been loaded into Netscape you can use it to
send/receive email or read news
The fields you should complete here are Outgoing Mail (SMTP) Server, Incoming
Mail (POP) Server, Mail server user name (Note: This is your username - NOT your
email address).
Under Mail server type, make sure that POP3 is selected. You should also make
sure that Leave messages on server after retrieval is not selected.
Next click on the "More Options" button.

Click the "Remember my mail password" checkbox if you want
Netscape to save your password.
Click on "Ok".
Next, select "Identity" from the Mail & Groups sub-list.

This is where is you set up all of your personal details. Your Name is YOUR
NAME, Your Email is usersname@#PV Domain# The "Organization"
field put "Saferinternet". If all of these options are not
configured correctly some parts of Netscape may not function correctly.
Click on "Ok" and Netscape is now setup to check your mail.
