Outlook 97 Setup


Configuring Microsoft Outlook for use with Saferinternet Network Access

Microsoft Outlook is an e-mail program which is included in MS Office 97. Configuring the software will be easy when you follow our step by step guide here.

Step One
Load Outlook by clicking on your Windows "Start" button, clicking on "Programs" and selecting "Microsoft Outlook" from the list of programs.



When it is finished loading click to where it says "Tools" and select "Services" as shown in the diagram above. This will bring up Outlook's configuration settings as displayed below.



Step Two
Click onto the button labeled Properties.

Having done this you will see a screen as shown below. This section is fairly straight forward. First, enter your name into the Full Name section, then enter your email address into the Email Address section. For the Internet Mail Server enter in "mail.#PV Domain#".

Now you need to enter your Saferinternet "username" and "password".

Once you have filled in your settings, click on the button "Message Format" and ensure you have a click on the "Use MIME when sending messages" then click "Ok".



Step Three
Now click on the button "Advanced Options". In this window, enter in the setting "SMTP.#PV Domain#" then once complete, press "Ok".



Step 4
Click on the Tab labeled "Connection".

In this window, select "Connect using the modem", and select "Saferinternet" in the box labeled "Dial using the following connection".

If you cannot find an option called Saferinternet, just select the entry which relates to your Internet Account with Saferinternet Network Access.

You can now click "Ok" as the configuration is complete.
